Dynamic cloud configuration management
Amazon and other cloud infrastructure vendors offer scant visibility into dynamic cloud parameters, such as changing host names or instance IDs. The Tap In Management Server interacts with cloud vendor APIs to enrich monitoring information, enabling Tap In customers to dynamically monitor changing cloud configurations.
Pay for what you use
Tap In’s Cloud Management Service is deployed as an on-demand service. Once you subscribe to the service, Tap In immediately deploys an instance of the monitoring server dedicated to you. Tap In bills a flat fee for each hour an instance runs. Fees are billed monthly via Amazon Web Services. There is no additional cost for increasing the number of monitored components, and no cost for agents and scripts, which are distributed as open source. You need not purchase or install monitoring software or any associated monitoring hardware.
Fast and easy deployment
Tap In’s cloud implementation enables you to deploy your monitoring service quickly and easily. Once agents are deployed, they communicate with the cloud and you can view events immediately. As your business requirements change, you can increase capacity easily by adding additional monitoring instances. You can also scale back instances, reducing monthly service costs.
Integration with existing management systems
For customers with installed monitoring systems, Tap In has developed scripts for easy integration with tools such as Nagios, Big Brother, Cacti, Windows Powershell, and Microsoft Operations Manager. Since standard protocols such as SNMP are supported, other management tools that support those protocols or languages also can be integrated.
Simple upgrades and maintenance
Software upgrades and maintenance are handled by Tap In Systems. Updates are released as separate images. You can test the new release in parallel with your existing system. Migration and fall-back, if necessary, are easy since the image of the previous release is always available.
Clouds supported
